Mary Zakordonski
Alberta Marriage Commissioner - St. Albert
About Me:
I am an Alberta marriage commissioner/officiant (since 2015) based in St. Albert, authorized to perform civil marriages in the Province of Alberta.
My goal is to help you have a meaningful wedding ceremony, one that meets all the legal requirements of the Province while meeting your needs. I have officiated at over 575 weddings since 2015 in St. Albert and surrounding areas. I am grateful for the opportunity to officiate at your wedding, whether large or small, whether formal or casual, whether indoors or out.
In my previous role as a Chartered Professional Accountant, I enjoyed my experiences in customer service, public speaking (groups of all sizes), media spokesperson, mentoring, training, organizing and working with people of different ethnicity, religions and sexual orientations.
In preparation for my role as an Alberta Marriage Commissioner, I took the Certified Wedding Consultant and Coordinator program offered by the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada (WPIC). The program covered such topics as: Multicultural weddings, same-sex marriages, wedding etiquette and attire.
I have recently taken the Indigenous Studies course offered by U of A and the info session “Metis 101”. In 2021 I took a beginner Ukrainian language course and I continue to take a French refresher course. I believe in lifelong learning.
I am thankful for my weekly “famjam” dinners with the family.
Languages:
I was born and raised in Quebec and am grateful for my loving family. I worked in a bilingual (French/English) college environment in Ottawa and I am thankful for that experience. If you want a ceremony incorporating more than one language or your cultural traditions, let’s discuss this. We will work together to meet your needs.
