Alberta Marriage Commissioner

GETTING STARTED

Mary Zakordonski , St. Albert’s Officiant since 2015
Alberta Marriage Commissioner

In Alberta, your ceremony may be a religious ceremony (performed by religious representatives) or a civil ceremony (performed by a Marriage Commissioner authorized by Ministerial appointment).  Mary officiates at Alberta Civil Marriage ceremonies  (non-religious).

An Alberta marriage commissioner is a person authorized to legally perform civil weddings here in Alberta.

In Canada, under the Civil Marriage Act (assented to July 20, 2005): “Marriage, for civil purposes, is the lawful union of two persons to the exclusion of all others.”  I welcome all couples wanting that legal commitment.

Please visit the Province of Alberta/Service Alberta website providing all the necessary official ceremony requirements, details about getting married in Alberta, married last name information, Alberta marriage commissioner listing, and a listing of all the registry offices in Alberta.
